Mary Magdalen Mock

Mary was born on 14 Dec 1776 according to p.773 of "Loyalist Lineages of Canada" Vol.II Part 2. She was born in Troy, NY, according to "The Savage Family of Shefford" by N. Broadhurst, p.100. Mary Magdalane married John Savage Jr., son of Captain John Savage, in 1798. Mary died on 21 May 1859 and is buried in the cemetery adjacent to St. John's Anglican Church in Bromont, Quebec. LLC. According to the death records of St. George Anglican Church in Granby, 1843 to 1879, Mary was 82 yrs 5 mos and 7 days when she died according to "Shefford County Cemeteries, Tombstone Inscriptions, Protestant" Vol 1.

Misc.: Mary Magdalene was mentioned on p. 100 of "The Savage Family of Shefford" by N. Broadhurst, ISBN 1-895435-02-1. The dates of her birth and death are given (the same as above). "The Story of St. John's Anglican Church, W.Shefford (Bromont), 1821-1989". A copy of this book is in Granby and certainly in the Hist. Soc. of Bromont.

JOHN SAVAGE Jr.

John Jr. was born 2 Jun 1770 according to p.773 of "Loyalist Lineages of Canada" Vol.II part 2.

John Jr. was the founder of Savage's mills not far from Granby Quebec, according to Ian R. Smith. John's father was Captain John Savage, a famous settler in Quebec. There is a long account of John Sr. in V-190-1-2 in the Missisquoi Historical Soc., Stanbridge East, Quebec. Capt.

John Mock Jr. was listed as one of the first settlers in Shefford County, in 1794, on p.10 of the account of John Savage, V-190-1-6, Missisquoi Hist. Soc. John Jr. was allotted pew No.23 in St. John's Anglican Church in Bromont (this church was founded by his father). On p.18 of the above book on Capt. John, his son, Lt. John Savage Jr. married Magdalen Mock. V-190-1-10, MHS.

John died on 10 Jan 1858. LLC. His tombstone gave his age as 87 yrs 7(?)mos and 8 days.

AMANDA SAVAGE

Amanda was born on 9 Feb 1799 according to "The Savage Family of Shefford" by N. Broadhurst, p.100, ISBN 1-895435-02-1 and died on 15 Mar 1887 at the age of 88 years according to her tombstone in the St. John's cemetery, Bromont Quebec.rt 2.

ANNIE SAVAGE

Annie married Jedediah Clark Spencer according to Ian R. Smith. Also see p.18 of the account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10, Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East. The date was 18 Sep 1839 in the Methodist Church, Shefford (remainder of record is on p.101, but I do not have this page--GF Carter).

Hannah married James Fitchett according to Ian R. Smith. Also this record is on p.18 of the account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10, Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East.

JOHN EDWARD SAVAGE

John married Berintha Hoskins according to Ian R. Smith. Also see p.18 of the account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10, Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East. They married in 1827 according to the Shefford Anglican church records.

ABRHAM HENRY SAVAGE

Abraham married Mary Todd according to Ian R. Smith. Also see p.18 of the account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10. Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East. Abraham married Mary Todd on 26 Mar 1832 according to the Shefford Anglican Church records. He was the son of John Savage and Mary Magdalen Mock.

Elizabeth Savage

Elizabeth married Lt. Col. Benjamin Savage according to Ian R. Smith. Also see p.18 of th account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10, Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East. They married on 24 Jan 1831 according to the Shefford Anglican Church records.

Charles Savage

Charles Mock Savage married Mary Ferguson according to Ian R. Smith. Also see p.18 of the account of Capt. John Savage, V-190-1-10, Missisquoi Hist. Soc., Stanbridge East. His children were John, Hiram Lyman, Louisa, Mar Ann, and eliza Jane Savage. LLC (see below for reference). Birth: Charles was born on 28 Feb 1814 according to p.773 of "Loyalist Lineages of Canada" Vol.II part 2.
